Title: BNP on the up....................
Post by: webby23 on 05 June 2009, 22:11:49
From Yahoo........

"The BNP has won its first county council seat in Lancashire in Burnley

Elsewhere, Peter Davies of the English Democrats celebrated victory in Doncaster's mayoral election and Labour lost its four remaining county councils to the Tories.

Overall, Labour appeared to be heading for total losses of around 300 seats while the Conservatives picked up more than 200.

Nottinghamshire was the last to fall as the Conservatives took control gaining nine seats while Labour - which had held the council since 1981 - lost 22. Derbyshire fell after 28 years of rule, while Labour was also beaten by the Conservatives in Lancashire and Staffordshire.

Labour also failed to gain a single councillor in newly-formed Central Bedfordshire, where the Tories took 54 of the 66 seats up for grabs.

And the party lost eight seats in Bristol as the Liberal Democrats took overall control of the city.

Burnley in Lancashire, scarred by race riots in 2001, already has four BNP members who sit on the local borough council.

The BNP's Sharon Wilkinson defeated Labour's Marcus Johnstone in the Padiham and Burnley West ward to strengthen the party's hopes of getting leader Nick Griffin elected as Euro MEP for the North West.

He needs around 8% of the Euro votes across the region to be elected to Strasbourg.

Mr Griffin admitted he might be squeezed by a big Ukip vote but, if that happened, he said: "At least we helped to put a Euro-realist party in Brussels who will do a far better job of looking after British interests than the Tories, Labour and the Liberal Democrats."

Looks like Labour and Browns thieves are in deep trouble........

Conservatives gaining support now too.......

That fact is worthy of consideration Vamps :y I don't think it will be replicatied at the general election and so we might see an entirely different outcome ;) ;)

Their prime concern is for their own political welfare and therefore the needs of this country, and its people, do not count ;)

Yep, like I said Zulu I agree the BNP will never be in power but I think it shows something of the great British public that the popularity of parties such as the BNP is greatly increasing.........

surely a poor turnout is good for the smaller parties?
becuase those who arent interested and choose to vote anyways would probably vote Tory right now, so more tory voters would be bad for BNP an UKIP

.........indeed webby, irrespective of where the tick falls, it's important for people get off their arses to ensure that their opinion is heard thought the polls. :y

People now seem to realize that in order to be heard they have to shout - in this instance by means of exercising their democratic right by voting - and the more people shout - the better it will be for the democratic process in this country :y :y

Brown is finished......he has lost all credibillity and authority and he was a really really crap PM anyway

Indeed, who fought to free Europe of fascism, racism, and give back to the people western liberal democractic freedoms that were so nearly lost to a thousand year Reich.

Thank God for those heroes, and those that gave their lives for our today.  May we not waste that sacrifice.

I'm not politically minded but it seems the UK needs to start sorting out it's own needs & problems before other countrys. This country has so many probelms which wouldn't be helped by letting even more beggars in.

The bnp are not racist. They just want to halt the incoming tide of people not matter what colour or creed. That's not racism.

Too many people = too many problems

I am not going to rewrite all my previous arguments, but:

How do you think the BNP are going to reduce the numbers then?  They are both racist and hard right wing fascist as recognised throughout the political, academic, and democratic western world.  A leopard doesn't change their spots!

Just please view these sites, especially the last one with it's video clip, as supported by the National Union of Students:

http://action.hopenothate.org.uk/page/invite/pollingday

But, at the end of the day I know you will always vote for who you and your conscience want.  ;) ;)

oh, and just remember the BNP won only 3 seats out of hundreds in the council elections, but to me 3 too many!!   I hold my breath over the European vote!! ::) ::)

:-? :-? :-? :-???  In Hastings alone down here in the South East Labour won four seats.  So that is already 1 more than the BNP nationally!

PS But Webby, I know I will not convince you and other BNP supporters, and it is your right to vote for who you want, as it was in Germany before 1933.  Democracy is a highly valuable asset, so what ever you do just take care of it please. :D :D :D ;) ;) ;)

completely agree with everything lizzie has said - and i don't want to rake over the coals of the BNP argument - but to those who voted BNP as a protest against this government - then shame on you - stop hididng behind the expense scandal - you honestly think BNP would behave any better?

if, on the other hand you voted BNP because you agree with their policies then shame on you
you are a racist and i condemn you
