You know all the stories about getting duff goods and crap sellers, well its not nice for sellers either. I listed a spare Weller soldering iron, wrote a nice descriptive text and put it up. Its not doing bad, a couple of bids. However someone has put up a different model of Weller iron and nicked my text completely.
Ebay talks the talk about respecting copyright owners rights, but suggests that we sort it out between ourselves. What a load of total................

Judging by his photo he didn't even steal the write-up for the correct iron. ::)

(not really that sad - just been trawling for Weller bits of late)

Yes your're right, different model of iron. I suppose I could always bid for it, and then claim he didn't send what was in the auction and hence non delivery, give him negative feedback and keep the iron as non requested goods (after 30 days it becomes your property). Ebay have directed me to a nice Copyright Infringement form that I have to fill in and fax back. :-X

We sold a Boxed set of DVD's sometime ago then noticed my photo (I took it in living room) was being used on an ad for same Dvd set by some other seller, sent an email to ebay saying thought this was out of order ! bingo "Next day or so the ad had been removed " ..Seems they cant use without you permisson noticed more people these days putting name through the photo. :y
