Title: A Great Motrorbike Ride Out Yesterday
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 14 June 2009, 21:22:29
As some of you may know my Sister organised a few bikers to go out for a ride to try and perk my Brother-in-Law up abit as he is rather low at the minute.
I went to meet up with 9 other riders at the Raven Cafe which is a transport cafe in Whitchurch. Loads of motorcyclists congregate there.
A young woman with two children asked one of the lads if her son could have a sit on one of the bikes and have his picture taken. It was great to see this young lads face revving up this bike and sitting there proud as punch whilst his mum took his picture.
We then rode over to Stafford to my Sister and Justins house where 11 motorbikes roared up the road to stop in there front parking space. Neightbours were out looking what was going on it was great.
A ride out to the Famous "Cat & Fiddle" near Macclesfield was then enjoyed by all. Although I had the oldest bike there, she held her own very well  ;)
So I have posted just a few pictures that I took with my phone. :y

Really good, there were a few more bikes on the road and a few around the back looking at Justins "Stalker" replica bike.
Nice day for bikes yesterday, plus was able to work on my "Chicken Strips"  ;)

I have loved the Thunderace since they first came out, but I couldn't afford one. So eventually when the girls were a little older plus the fact the prices had dropped I could afford one so I had to have one. I was waiting for this colour too, as there are a few different paint schemes.
You are right they do go pretty well, very comfortable both one up or two.
My bro-in-law kept on about his Pure Sports Bike and that mine was an old mans bike, how his zx7r would wipe the floor with mine blah blah blah.. so we went out for a blast, I stayed behind for a while to watch how he rode then went past on the bends which I ain't sure he liked really  ;D  so we got to Matlock had a breakfast then rode back. We some how ended up on some airstrip where Bro opened up his bike so I thought perhaps here is the time to see if his Pure Sports Bike will leave my Old Girl for dead? the answer was No! I decided to overtake him as I was about to do this he sat up nearly having Yamaha tattooed across his back :o
My clocks were not working properly at the time but knew I was going faster than the 90 it was reading as the white lines of Hyperdrive were starting to appear ;D
Bro's tom tom rider told us we were doing far past this, plus since then never heard anymore of the wise cracks....
So yes "Thunder" is getting an Old Girl, she was born in 1997, but what is it they say?
"Many a good tune played on an Old Fiddle!" :y

Great pics. I'm really envious, I loved my bike my favorite was the Vmax, a monster in a straight line but brown trousers time around any bend! My biking came to an end thanks to a drunk driver on the M27 motorway  >:( This time of year is the time I miss it most  :-/

Never riden a ZZR being honest supposed to be a nice bike though.
Have a go on your mates Thunderace first, have a day out on it making sure you like it as much as me.
They were over shadowed by the R1 so rather underated bike in my opinion :y

i have been on my mates ace and loved it . my zzr is fast and it is good to ride but its big and heavy comperd to the ace . the ace is light and good handling on corners . we had a race the other day and the ace was a bit faster than the zzr . but that might have been my fault i s--t out on a few corners ;  :o im ok at normal speeds around the 100 mark but we wernt doing normal speeds  :D :D i hope there is no traffic cops on here  ;D ;D

You were on an Airstrip so you were ok  ;D
The only thing that has taken me sometime to get used to is it only has 5 gears and I sometimes go for a 6th, but you can get a gearbox out of a YZF750 that is a 6 speed that goes straight in :y
Have a look at this site :y
