Can you actually see it happening Cem? I cant. You dont pull a troubled company out of the poo by selling it's product at a loss. ;D

You do if you have huge quantities of dead stock, costing your company in storage, depreciation and interest.  You make your first cut as the best cut, and I suspect that this cut will reduce the cars to cost and if they sell them they get all the benefits of cutting the previously mentioned costs, but also obtaining desperately needed cash flow. ;)

That is good business and can save your company. 8-) 8-) 8-)

here in Turkey the govt dropped the taxes on new cars..like %3-4..and result : second hand values drop in the same day.. and the people-firms who say they dont have money and dont pay their credits go buy many new cars :o and the stocks depleted in 1 week :o :o >:( >:( >:( >:(

Funny you should say this, went into a Vauxhall Dealers the other day where there was a gorgeous looking VXR Insignia (I thin it was) with a price tag on the windscreen for nearly £29,000 there price £14,995  :o If I had a few quid spare it would have been sitting outside our house now :)

If it was truly about being "green", then we wouldn't be seeing new cars full stop.

Maybe, freed from the shackles of big GM, Opel will reintroduce a proper rear wheel drive car, which could be named after the last letter in the Greek alphabet.

The bodywork could be built from alluminium alloy to save weight, fuel and emmisions, and it could be powered by a 2.7 or 3.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine, coupled to a six speed automatic gearbox like that in the 7 Series B*W. There could even be a 4.2 litre supercharged V8 petrol version developing 400 BHP plus.

I wonder if anyone else has thought of this?  ;)

Plenty have thought of it, but there's no backhanders money in it.

15K !!!?? :o :D For a VXR!!? That can't be right.?
I'd be happy with any insignia with a turbo petrol for that money (if I had it ::)  )
Pity all those poor foolish people who bought new cars in 2007/8 :-/
