At my last place I bought a Samsung set top box. Sadly the aeriel was not up to it and the unit got shleved.(Efit - just remembered my TV didnt have a scart socket, so maybe unfair to blame thhe aeriel)
Here at the new place I dont have sky yet, broke out the Digi box and set it up twice. Had a dodgy aeriel connection fitting. all working, but signal has started to glitch a bit. Is this because of the weather and possible storms in the air.
Should I be getting all the program into on all channels
Should I be able to get the "Dave" channel on a non digi aeriel.
Is there any chance of getting a better digi box, do any have better chipsets out there.
TIA :y

To be honest, you might struggle with a UHF aerial, you would be best to upgrade it to a digital wideband one if possible (£20 from Wilco's will do the job) :y
I get the flickering on BBCi and I have a Digital aerial, and a masthead amplifier - just not got the best signal.

The weather is certainly causing problems Skruntie with my digi-box with all channels lost late last night, due I suspect to storms around where the transmitter we get signals from! :P :P
However, are you sure that a) the aerial on your new place is up to digital and b) the cabeling inside is of digital standard? Have you fully checked all the connections and fully re-set the box? Do your neighbours have any problems with the reception from your local transmitter? If they are all ok, it could well be your digi-box, as I certainly had to replace one that started to fail on me and break up the signal. :'(
As you are getting Sky is it worth the expense and mucking around with a new box? If so I'd get a new one Skruntie.

HUMAX are best for weak signals. If that helps.

Am getting ITV 2,3 and 4. Fiver, Five US etc, no Dave, 4music and TMF.
My intention is to check out the 2nd aerial on the roof that goes to the kitchen and find out which is brdt.
Then upgrade to a DAT45 as was mentioned in a thread a few months back.

Am getting most freeview channels on the box in our bedroom (including Dave) with non-digi aerial. A lot depends on where you live. :y
