Piece of pi$$ to change on a Scorpio.
If you have rear discs, then you'll need the piston wind back tool from what I remember when I had my Cossie.

Well in my days on working on Anglia's, Mk1 Escorts, Mk 2,3,4 & 5 Cortina,s, I found Fords very easy cars to work on!  Very basic, but nicely straightforward! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

For gawds sake dont just push the rear pistons back--knackers the internal handbrake mechanism--wind back tool or similar is a must!!  I did it once with an old (blunt) chisel that fitted the castellations nicely--then I bought correct tool.  Works well with ordinary pistons too. I usually slap a bit of brake grease on the piston (under the boot) before pushing/winding back.

It's well over 10 years since I had the Scorpio, but I remember doing that job on more than one occassion ... I also remember the local ford dealer loaning out the wind back tool when you purchased the new pads. Deposit of £25 I think refunded on return.

Can you see a modern dealer doing such a useful thing ?? Especially a Vx one .. :(

Blimey Entwood, that goes back to the days when the dealer gave you discount when you gave him the old parts you were replacing, brake shoes, generators, etc!! :o :o :o  It has brought back memories of a BMC dealer in Lewisham that I used at the time! ;D ;D ;D ;)

No thanks! ::) ::) :P :P :P :D :D  I didn't like them when new, and thank God never had one as a company car as I always picked large Vauxhall's. :D :D :D ;)

The funny thing is though that I like them more now than I did, but not enough to own one. :D :D :D ;)

Had one of them myself couple of years ago. One hell of an engine!! And i loved the scorpio shape,even though most folk hated it.
