I have a Grandstream 487 voip adapter its been working fine.
Now when i connect to the PC it does not get allocated an IP address??
Connect PC to it can get into menu. Got the old IP phone out of the
garage coonects to sipgate fine. Any ideas please
Did a factory reset on the Grandstream - no change. :-/

So the router isn't giving the adapter an IP?

That's right
Menu item ***02 on grandstream IP address 000.000.000.000 ????

OK, is the Grandstream DHCP or BOOTP?
If the former, are there any leases left on the router?

As far I know, did try ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew.
IP phone gets IP address ok - just don't like it ?

The grandstream is the only device that gets the IP - presumably the grandstream is not a device that plugs in to computer, but straight into router?

Set the Grandstream to static ip address :192.168.0.100
menu on grandstream ***02 : ip address: 192.168.0.100
Reserve that address in Netgear router IP address list.
But not showing in attached devices
Can get to 192.168.0.100 from browser window -does not let me log-in
Grandstram showing not connected

Yes - has wan , lan , phone connectors-
putting cable from router port in lan socket on grandstream
Also seems to to stop other devices on other router ports connecting to the internet ?

So if PCs that are connected (wired) to router are working fine on internet, and you plug grandstream in, you're saying the pcs immediately lose internet?

Not immediately just seems to stop disconnect it service is restored on pc
Thanks for help. May be time to bin it?
I plugged in the old Voip phone - not used for at least a year got connection no problem - the problem with phone is if you end up at a menu say press 1 for reception the Voip phone only sends a short tone
which is not long enough. Ok for dialling.
