.... we're heading up to Ecosseland in a couple of weeks for a holiday. We'll be camping in Drumnadrochit, about 20 minutes from Inverness. Any recommendations on places to visit, I.E. nice walks and places of interest?
We're planning a day in Inverness and doing Fort William on the way up.

Lovely part of the world, you'll see a lot of Loch Ness as you drive right up the side of it, stop at Fort Augustus and watch the lochs work, there's a cracking pub there. Try the cable car ride at Aonach Mor, nr Ft. William, I think its used for the skiers in the winter. The drive through Glencoe is beautiful, even better in the winter.

I love driving the A82, used to do it regularly in a 44 tonner as we ran into Inverness on a contract, just never done it as a tourist. I'll have a look into Fort Augustus and the cable car. Thanks :y

theres a great walk from inverfarigaig car park - its through forestry commission land - gives some great views of the Loch (take a good camera in case Nessie pops up :y ) and it takes in a beautiful waterfall at the falls of Foyers - takes about 3 1/2 to 4hrs - but i think theres a few different walks starting from the car park :y

If you want to see dolphins leaping out of the water visit Chanonry Point near Fortrose on the Black Isle - virtually guaranteed to see dolphins but only at high tide.
You can also take boat trips into the moray firth from Fortrose to see the dolphins. :y

When I go in that direction I just have to go onto Culloden Moor and try and "feel" the battle that took place there on 16th April 1746. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
If you enjoy history this is one of the 'musts'! :y :y
