Title: GMTV Wages
Post by: Mr Skrunts on 05 July 2009, 03:28:04
just been out for a spin in the car and listened to the news on the way back.

Holly Willoughby is to take over from fern britton.

her wages are repoerted to be £400K P.A.

At last a TV channel that has saved some money, seems Fern was on £800K P.A. :-/

True, she is easier on the eyes, but I have a lot of respect for Fern Britton as she went out to visit the boys in Iraq at least once enduring all the rocket attacks that the soldiers did.  :y :y :y

What is it other than an outlet for Downing Street drivel? ;) ;)

The editorial ethic is non-existent.

Another example of how populist broadcasting is being used by the political elite to discombobulate the voting public :y :y

I always consider this programme Zulu and all the others in the same gender, as pure 'entertaining, sensationalistic, journalism' that are the equivalents of the red banner tabloids, or at best Daily Mail type output.

For serious political programmes then programmes like Andrew Marr, The Politics Show, This Week, Panorama, Question Time and only a few others maybe, are the ones to view.  Even then biased editorial values may impair the output, as today when in the Andrew Marr show, quite correctly the Foreign Secretary David Miliband had to reprimand Marr for leading a question to him about the new head of MI6's wife having a web site that gave all their personal details (now closed down), when their were the critical issues of Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, etc to discuss :o :o :o :o :o

Agreed in general Ms Zoom although I do have a soft spot for the Daily Mail I admit. :-[

The sinister thing is the way such organs have been manipulated to spew the given political line, which is dressed in such a way as to appear entertaining. ;)
