Here is a site which checks the windspeed against your postcode and tells you if it is economically viable to install a domestic turbine.
http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Generate-your-own-energy/Can-I-generate-electricity-from-the-wind-at-my-home
My result?
3.23 metres per second.
"Unfortunately a domestic small scale wind turbine would not be suitable for your property, as the average wind speed in your area is below 5 metres per second.
The Energy Saving Trust does not recommend installing a domestic small scale wind turbine in areas with wind speeds of less than 5 metres per second. Wind speeds of less than 5 metres per second are unlikely to provide a cost effective source of electricity (based on current technologies)."
So there you have it. I'll keep my money in my pocket. ;) :)

330+ Metres AMSL up on the side of a mountain; exposed to the prevailing winds (year`round) and line of sight from an existing commercial wind-farm: the website result for here is only 3.75 M/Sec.......I doubt if these figures are in any way to be considered accurate and applicable! ::)
Typical 'green' nonsense! >:(
