I have only seen the type with a big plate in the boot across the floor. Are they all like this?
As I have seen on fleabay ones that seem to bolt through the back of the boot floor (near the seats) and also at the rear (near the boot door) then an angle iron that seems to bolt through the rear edge of the boot towards the bumper.
Any help gratefully recieved :y

OE Bosal have the big plate on the boot floor, as does the Westfalia detachable I got off Kevin off Elite Pete. The cheaper end of the market, ie the 2 bolt flange Witter, hang underneath the boot floor and are made of 11/2" box section. The Witter type Ihad on my Senator would tend to bottom out on some of the extrem speed ramps unless you went really really slow, besides - they
look sh1te don't look as good. AIMHO! ::) ::) ::)
Both types use the same mounting points though. :y

I do agree with you as if I fit a towbar I would prefer one I can remove.
Any ideas where I can get one like that at a good price?

Marky Mark had a detachable a few weeks back! It's gone now though.
I suppose it depends how often you're likely to need your tow bar. I used to just unbolt the swan neck from mine when I wasn't using it, but that was before we bought another caravan and it was high days & hoidays when I used the towbar.
How much were you planning on spending? ..... there's an OE Bosal swan neck in my shed. ::) the loom is still connected to my car but I could pull my finger out and remove it ...... :y

you can get a hide away tow bar
not sure where you get them from or the cost
failing that get the type that you can unclip from the car
