I just got back with Hanna (my Rottie). Down on the industrial estate there's a plant & skip hire place. Someones climbed over the fence & nicked a load of copper piping, lead flashing etc out the skips & then hid it in some bushes in a wheel barrow. They didn't hide it well enough. I cable tied it to the fence with some big ties from work, so when they come back tonight in the dark, they'll have some problems taking it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

when the little sods tried nicking the lead off the roof over our front door
me and ann caught them and got them arrested
and with the lead they ripped off i put it in the boot of the car and weighed it in myself
nice £35 for a bit of lead ;D

This thought had crossed my mind. I'm going back in a while with some latex gloves, i know where Hanna's left a deposite in the fields. A wheel barrow has handles ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Catch my drift ;)

Would be quite entertaining to watch them sneak up all quiet and stealth like in the wee small hours, to wheel away a barrow...that's been rigged up to some fireworks.

or take all the bolts out so as they go to move it, it just falls apart ;D :D

Reminds me of a boss I once had. He told me he saw some 8 bags of cement on a building site near his house. Thought he would get one later. When he got there in the dark he was just in time to see his next door neighbour taking the last one in his squeeky barrow. They split it.
Like your thinking on this one. :) :) I would just have had to hide nearby somewhere!

Take an empty Whisky bottle, fill it with cold tea (or any other suitably coloured liquid) & leave it on the bus or somewhere public.
The thought of someone taking a large swig & the resultant reaction would have to be imagined but amusing nevertheless ;)

That was the alternative that I had in mind but having been brought up not to use bad language I did not want to articulate it! ;)

I remember many moons ago running as a 2nd driver on a continental italy run, late on the 2nd day we were both knackered so we got our heads down for the obligatory 9 hours. Middle of the night and desperate for a wee decided my empty pop bottle was a better option than the early hours of a february morning at the foot of the alps. Waking up several hours later and setting off again I nearly crashed when my co-driver started complaining at my 'flat lemonade' had left a funny taste in his mouth. I had to pull over because I couldn't see through the tears of laughter! It took me 20 minutes to calm myself down enough to tell him ;D I was all the b@stards under the sun for the rest of the run ;D ;D
