No, I wouldn't penalise him for wanting a caravan, I'll leave his post count as it is ;)

Quote:- "If your going camping do it properly, don't break around with caravans" Unquote. In a "van" you don't have to unpack the crammed car, set up in the rain & reverse the whole process on leaving. Also TB imparted this wisdom while cooking an impressive brekky (& burning his hand) on a hot sunny morning. In a van you can have brekky in all weathers. I also wonder , looking at TB's impressive camping set up how much it cost in total?
My van with everything fitted:- £200 & it fits on the front of the house so no fees, even had the no. plate made for nothing although it has "Paragon" on it! Cheers Steve.
To sum up, tents were fun when i was young @ Reading/Stonehenge etc. but now i prefer the comfort & ease of the van. Never thought i'd say it but i do....simples!!! :D

The handbrake doesnt squeal on a tent though.... ;D :y

The setup I had last weekend, I'd guess all the stuff less that 10yrs old, less than £200. Most of my camping stuff is older than me ;)

Entwood & Ian. I'm living up to my OOF pillock monicker!! I only noticed when i got home. The Beastie is lowered at the back & i have to reverse the van over the pavement/grass outside the house. She's fitted with a detachable towbar & drop down elec socket which catches on the ground when parking @ home so i only take the van in/out with the leccy up then plug in once on the road & unplug when home which is when i realized i had'nt plugged it in to start with!!!!
Works well though & i reckon TB will have the same fitted to his MV6 when he sees reason!!!!! ::) ;D
