Annother one from when I was younger, was fantastic as a child, seen it since and the last scene where the Dam is busted is sooooo false.  Maybe just the end needs a remake.

In German, but you do not need sub-titles for these scenes in a film that is probably the most brutally portrayed of any true historical fact!!  When Hitler aboundoned to their fate the great German Sixth Army under General Paula.  200,000 German soldiers were lost in Stalingrade, with 30,000 injured evacuted.  As my Grandmother always said during the war and long after, "they are some mothers sons"!

Yes, and agreed by those actually there as being the most realistic depiction of war generally and on Omaha Beach in particular!!  The American 1st and 29th Divisions pushed into a headlong charge onto the beach, similar to the 'over the top' suicidal moves in the Great War, and sustained 2,000 casualties by the end of the day :'( :'( :'( :'(.

This is the film that my lad started to watch years ago when he was about 5 ...... he'd really got interested in it and it must have suddenly occured to him that it was in black & white because he come to me with the remote for the telly for me to confirm that he was pressing the correct buttons for the colour!!  :y When I told him that it was made in black & white he just couldn't understand why you would!  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)
