Title: hamsters

i brought a hamster set up about 2 days ago for the kids
it came with 2 dwarf hamsters
got up this morning to a right noise and found they have had babies about 6 or 7 of the little things

do i have to seperate the male from the female
and how the hell do i tell the difference

plus is there any sort of extra care ive got to give them



rather sods law, i only said to ann last night that it would be sods law they have babies now all the kittens have gone

You'll have to seperate the mum & dad. The little ones won't be a problem until they come of age, but that won't be long.
It's possible you could have two females & one had sex before you bought them. I'd seperate just to be on the safe side. As for the sex of them, looks like a trip to the vets ;)

ive just popped down to the petshop i had the hamsters from and he gave us a spare cage he had got and said he will buy the baby hamsters off us when there ready

saying that, we had already got 3 cats, went & got a loverly black kitty for the little girl, a week or so later one of the others spat 2 more out.  :-?

you should of said you wanted a cat for the baby you could of had 1 or 2 of ours

the black one was going spare near lysons dads.wasnt really looking, it sort of landed here.

the male must be seperated.. and even if two females exist the non borning female also must be seperated..

its just 1 male and 1 female we have got plus the babies which are still with the female

the male is in another cage given to us by the pet shop that said he will buy the babies from us when there ready :y
