Title: Possibly interesting for Derv owners.
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 13 August 2009, 08:13:59
Seems that 2 stroke oil is supposed to be a good additive for Derv motors.

and

Given that its a combustable lube oil, I can understand how it helps with pump lube etc, cant quite see how the economy can be increased though.

So might be of interest to those of you wanting to protect your injector pumps

I've been using it in the Rover for about 6 weeks, the only difference I have noticed is it seem a bit quiter.

Which makes sense.

Its the lube properties I would expect to be the main benefit

Thanks Mark :y :y :y :y

I will be trying this soon.

When i ran my 800 on 75% veg oil, it was sooo quiet compared to diesel & there was a noticable increase in power :) :) There was hardly any smoke under hard excelleration even up to the red line 8-) 8-)

I'm very interested in the lube properties of the 2 stroke oil for my pump etc, especially after finding they cost around the £600.00 mark :o :o :o :o

It is very interesting but I wonder, as some of these oils are of a particular colour - red in one case - if there is any likely hood of the colour migrating to the fuel and fuel system components causing obvious difficulties with the revenue :-/ :-/

Right enough Mark, I'll mix some outside of the system to see what the result is before trying it in the van :y :y
