Post by: miggy on 21 August 2009, 21:17:15
Thinking of going with O2 broadband premier package, as i am already a mobile customer i can have the unlimited usage for £9.79 per month with up to 20mb download (depending on exchange)
I am with ruddy AOHELL at the moment and they are a bag of s"*%.

Any of you guys any expierience with O2 broadband, looking at the web they come out as the top supplier.

im on em, have been for a few months.

very happy so far..

only go to them if they offer their LLU service on your exchange though, their 'through bt' option is often complained about.

Been with O2 since the beginning, and the only time the service has ever dropped was when that main undersea cable got damaged a while back.....but that caused half the UK problems regardless of who the ISP was.

I pull 17Mbit downstream, get 2.2Mbit upstream, and they have yet to get shirty about my download habits.
If you get a Wireless Box II, then I'd wall mount it as they are known to overheat thanks to the poor design. The Wireless box III is much better, but both are still limited in what you can do with them (made that way so the customer can't fook about with them and screw things up).

As above though, if they don't offer the LLU service at your exchange then you'll be reliant on BT for pretty much most of your service.

i dont think they can be any worse than AOHELL, AOL charge 24.99 for unlimited, 02 charge 9.79 as i am a mobile customer, first 2 months free, free router and a better package than the other heap of rubbish.

There are a few in the same league as Arseholes On Line, but O2 isn't one of them.

Been with O2 since we got this house, just a basic broadband package and its been FLAWLESS!!!

more importantly, when SWMBO rang up to enquire about it, she mentioned she had a contract mobile, they gave us the broadband for free... for the whole YEAR!

On 02 option 2 broadband and can't fault it. It is very fast and reliable, much better than Orange who we were with before, had nothing but problems with Orange. Got mine and swmbo's laptops wireless and can't praise it enough. My sister is on AOL and has had loads of problems.

Took me about 20 mins to get them to agree to send a mac code, they tried everything to keep me, in the end i had to get a bit shi"*y with them, mac code came through yesterday, should be on O2 by Sept 1st.
