Title: Tuning 2.0 8v.
Post by: Big Rod on 02 March 2007, 09:16:33
I've just bought a 2.0 Calibra for thrashing round Knockhill of a Sunday. Just trying to drop myself in gradually.

Anyone got any ideas on tuning one up?

I have more ambitious plans, but they're for another discussion.

TIA!

Which engine and age.......is it the 112Bhp or the 130Bhp.......

There is an obvious engine swap available........which has a little blower on it that is then very tuneable.....or drop a V8 in and make it rear wheel drive ( Seem to recall that the Calibra uses the GSi chassis with the independent rear suspension and a mount for a diff.....)

Well it's funny you should say that chap! Remember I said I had more ambitious plans? Well I just happen to have an LSD out of a Senator and a set of front springs, (for the extra weight!!), lying in my back yard!! I just need to buy a carlton to cut the transmission tunnel out of it and steal the gearbox!!!!  8-) (Shame I just gave away a rotten GSI!!?!?!?  ::) )

(Actually one of my mates has a Blydenstein tuned 2.0 lying in his back garden he's trying to get rid of, but I doubt he'd let it go with much cheapness!!)
