Title: Cash for gold
Post by: STMO999 on 31 August 2009, 20:42:05
There are adverts on every five minutes for old gold at the mo. Just wondered if anyone had sold any recently.
I had an old gold bracelet with a broken clasp that I kept meaning to get repaied. Took it to a shop that has opened up in town today. 9ct, 23.4g, got £117.80 for it. That's about £5 a gram. Well pleased :y

This is the advert that really worries me. The presenter's facial expressions are well...perhaps the first comment underneath the video explains it best:

"My children hide behind the sofa when this ad is on. Now they believe[ch65279] Postal Gold Man will come and 'get them' when they are asleep. I am terrified as well!"

 ;) ;D ;D ;D

Don't let Gordon see this ad.  He'll want to sell the few ounces we've still got left after he got rid of most of the nation's gold reserve when prices were at their lowest.
 :( :( :(

I would have thought that some jewelry has considerable added value over and above the scrap metal value?  This stupid ad could persuade some people to part with items that coud quite probably bring them more money at auction.

That's a better price but a bit more of a bother. I just walked into the shop and five minutes later the cash was in my arse pocket ;D
