Title: Put a film on - gave up
Post by: Martin_1962 on 03 September 2009, 23:25:30
Thought I would watch a film tonight.

It is a Momentum studios one.

Gave up after 5 minutes as I STILL had not got to the menus.

It was a case of "Piracy allows you to watch the film without nagging", then films I didn't want to see, then chocolate sadverts.

Kept pressing skip nothing, fast forwards nothing, watched TV for a while, still no film.

Ripped it out and threw it across the room - will be going in the car boot pile unwatched, just like a few other films with the same bug. >:( >:(

Luckily you can get almost what you paid at a CBS.

BTW both the DVD player and the PS3 jam up on this crap

Watched an Anime instead.

Oh and windows media player - reminds me I need a decent PC DVD player.

I understand PERFECTLY why films get pirated.

I am glad they didn't try this with BluRays

Yep.  Even worse if it's a favourite that is watched relatively often. >:(

...and sit through ages of Options Menus, film promo trailers, adverts and various anti-piracy and Censors info before getting to the actual film.

Some discs won't allow that. The FF button does nothing. Same with Skip and Next Scene buttons.  >:(

It's a bit of a work around but you can always use DVD Shrink to copy just the film onto another disk.... would stop you getting annoyed...

You don't need D/L blanks with Shrink, although you will need AnyDVD by Slysoft running in the background to strip the protection out.
