Weirdist thing ever happened to us this afternoon.....
Got done out of work early and arranged to meet the wife and our 3 yr old lad at KFC in Long Eaton.....
So there we are, tucking into our 8 piece family feast when we notice a "Find Madeline" sticker on the side of a car as it came into the drive-thru part of the restaurant......
As it past the window where we were sitting.......break me if it weren't that Kate McCann in the passenger seat and a female friend driving.....
Good job she didnt come into the restaurant, I would have told her EXACTLY what I think of her parenting skills.....or lack of......
Very random I know, but very true.....wonder why she was is Long Eaton......???

I still reckon there's a lot more to this than is being let on. Bad parenting - NO, disgusting parenting - YES. >:(

Part of the problem I think is the 'no kids' culture we have in the UK. Whenver there is function to attend the kids always get cut out of it. It's totally different in other countries whereby kids are always present in gatherings.

Yes. We all saw them on telly a few years back when they did dawn raids although none of their 'evidence' was true.
Kids parted from loving families due to social workers f*** ups but kept with the adoptive parents 'for the sake of the child' is the last one I can remember.

Lets not pretend that social workers/services system works. >:(
I do feel very sorry for the McCanns. From all accounts the front door of appartment where the kids were sleeping was in full view of where they were all eating. Pontins do/did (30 yrs ago) a service where they would alert parents of crying kids when the parents were in the entertainment halls, so lets not attack the McCanns for doing no worse than the vast majority of most parents have done in the past.
Were any of those calling the McCans there in Portugal? I suspect not, so you don't really know for certain exactly what went on. :-X

I am not the only one who thinks the parents have something to hide!
and do a google on mothers dumping their baby in the bin, take off the rose tinted glasses first you may see the world for what it actually is
surprisingly alot of stories on goolge for somethig that NO mother could ever do.

Its well documented exactly what went on mate, they decided to leave 3 young children alone whilst they went out dining with friends.....
Regardless of how close they were to the apartment, they were evidently not within sight of the children else none of this would have happened....
And to suggest their behaviour is normal parenting, I deeply disagree.....
They left their kids unattended and got what they deserved as a result....
I feel sorry for Madeline and pray to God they find her, and the McCanns should thank their lucky stars they still have their twins cos they could have been taken too.....

In the absence of any form of evidence D that's a very robust statement to make and indeed, it borders on the wildly speculative. :(

Much as I see your point, I suspect medication plays a part in her composure. From experience, some meds turn you into an emotionless functioning zombie!
I do think she has got what she deserves, shouldn't have children if you aren't prepared to protect them. Leaving them alone, no matter how close you are is not protecting them in my book! >:(

From all acounts they were no more out of sight from them, than your kids are when they go to bed ... unless of course you sleep in the same room as them at the same time ......

And dining at a bar 100 metres away is ALOT different than sleeping under the same roof in a different room and to suggest otherwise is ridiculous.......!!!!

.....the full facts of this case may never be known, however I'm inclined to agree with you for the most part.
Although I am not a parent it seems unreasonable to me that such an arrangement was considered acceptable in the first place.
I've had extensive experience in dealing with people who have fallen under official notice for one thing and another and there is something in the McCann's behaviour which doesn't seem quite right, although I can't quite identify it.
The case was mishandled from the get-go unfortunately.

Definately hiding something, though can't quite decide on a motive!
I feel for their other children who in effect are growing up as an after thought since they are living in the shadow of their sisters disappearance! :(

She does seem to be a strong individual although I would imagine that meds have played their part in this at some point.
I was considering their joint behaviour in the aftermath of the childs disappearance which indicated to me that something was not quite right.

I see them both weekly, they visit the Leisure Centre where i work, i have to :-X :-/ ::)

maybee she was jellied out her nut on calm me down pills and thats the reason she came across as hard faced and uncaring.
i still think she had more to do with it than she is letting on
