Mark

i found when i did one it was a waste of £500 i went to blackpool had 1 week there had lessons for 8 hours each day with 2 other students in the car anyway i failed the test!

i threatend to sue the company and got a full refund minus test fees!

I passed after 2 weeks with a local good driving instructor i had 2 hour lessons everyday of the week for 2 weeks

the price some of the intensive courses charge is scandolous its cheaper to goto poland and do a polski test and then come back over here ;)

The individual who has spent 3 months learning (without passing) will be a better driver than the individual who has done it for a week and passed!

Had my full bike license 2 weeks after turning 17, and my full car license 3 weeks after that.

No bike lessons whatsoever (they didn't really exist then anyway), just straight in and job done.
I took 2 lessons before the car test, but that was only to make sure I knew the car before I put myself up for the actual test.

The only reason for booking the driving lessons was quite simple - it would lead the examiner to believe I was making the effort if I was in a school car rather than my own.

Do I think that the tests of today make for a better driver?

Do I f**k!!!

When he takes you out for the first night (7pm-3am), ignores you throughout, and you still get together after....then that's something  ;)

Very true, although it is better than it used to be  - ride round the block and if you didnt fallv off or knock a pedestrian over you passed. ::) ..........I didnt get a chance to take the test then, ended up in Hospital 2 weeks before my 17th and wasnt mobile for quite a while afterwards. ::)

I guess that all depends on what your bike weighs really.

My sub 200 KG Kawasaki Z900 did the quarter mile in 9.05s @ 152mph at the Bulldog 3 weeks ago....not a lot prepares you for that  ;)

I found the best preparation for that run was 12 cans of kangaroo piss (Fosters), half a dozen spliffs, and god knows how many lines (proper lines mind, not your pauper lines) of high grade coke straight off the block  ;D ;D

No point in worrying about today when you could get run over by a bus tomorrow.

Simple fact is...when your time's up - then it's up.

I agree.........up to a point, but I personally dont like drugs (seen the human cost at very close proximity)and dont ever drink & ride/drive,last time I did I nearly died. But off public roads is obviously your own personal call. ;)

Reminds me of the one and only time I've ridden a bike. Pi$$ed in the bar of an airfield with a mate who was a serious biker. He'd never driven a car, I'd never ridden a bike. So, a deal was struck. He got to thrash my Morris Ital up and down the runway, and I got to do the same on his CBR600. There and then, no sobering up allowed. ;D

I think I got the best end of that deal. :D

I did a motorcycle intensive course, you can't really get bike lessons as such. 4 days of solid training, then onto the test. Would have past if i had not fallen off  ;D

Second test, only 2 minors on the entire test, but put my foot down on U turn  >:(

3rd time was the charm!

I'd say go for intensive, really good to see the improvements you do in short space of time.

Have a look at http://www.findadrivingschool.com

They have quite a few driving schools on their system that offer intensive training courses.
