That's good going, well done...you clearly looked after it well. From seeing the beemer in previous threads it looks a nice bike, it's always a good feeling when you get to drive or in your case ride something you've wanted for some time  :y

Glad you did well on the Yam. Looked like a nice little bike. BMW bikes seem alot of bucks & i don't like the vertical twin engine, looks wrong to me somehow. Still i reckon it'll be a cracking touring bike & you've done well acheiving it, good on ya!!!! :y

You dont need to worry about perfecting the "cool bikers nod" now,ime BMW riders dont nod back they just ignore non beemer riders.  ::)

Probably my biggest regret is not taking my bike test when i was 17 but then you hopped off your fizzy & onto an RD250DX or a KH250 triple (my fave) so there seemed no need to take the test then we wanted a car on the road so my bike test never happened. I'm still tempted to do it & my choice of bike is a Suzi Bandit, cheap to buy & insure. I've had the 600 & ridden a 1200 so it'd be the 1200 if i did it. 8-)

I had a brand new one of those sat inBelfast Kawasaki centre, waiting to be picked up on my 17th birthday.I didnt make it,came off another KH250 16 days before my birthday and was in the local infirmary until my birthday had long gone.
When I got out mum had cancelled the order and bikes were banned until I left home (and the country) just before my 20th. :'( ::) ;D

Talking of big Soozookeez, if you think the GSX1400 looks big, take a look at the B-KING  :o  http://thekneeslider.com/images/08bking.jpg

Sat on the Bandits, again not really much of an improvement, naked bike, still a tad on the small side height wise.

I work in the motorcycle industry and we have CBT's on site at the weekend, but it's changed so much recently, I've lost track of what is involved in getting a full licence nowadays.
I think it falls just short of blindfold uni-cycling, backwards, on a greasy wire, over shark infested water.

Me too. It seems you have to jump though hoops to get it.

I passed mine Nov 80 in Dunfermline!

Took me 3 attempts to pass, mainly due to me putting my foot down in the U-turn.
