Just had a Spitfire fly over my house 8-) 8-)
I was just pegging my washing out about twenty mins ago & it came over, banked right & he was giving it some too. Gave me goose bumps, the sound of that Merlin V12. Totally beautiful sound 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) :) :)

Im fortunate, I live in Boston so am very close to the Coningsby RAF base where they have 'The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight'. During the summer months we see Spitfires, the (currently) only flying Lancaster in the world, a Dakota, loads of Typhoons? and a couple of Harriers.

Nothing my almost 2 and 3 year olds like more than to go plane spotting, which were going to do in about an hour. :y

i take it canadian one is non airworthy at the moment then. :)

The Canadian one burst a prop a few months back and will be out of action till next year apparently. We also have another fully restored one in Lincs, but that just taxi's around the runway because it hasn't been issued its air worthiness certificate yet.

I remember, I used to go to a lot of classic car shows around the Herts, Beds etc areas and someone had built a car using the merlin engine, now that was a beast!!!!

Spitfire/Merlin engine...once seen/heard, never forgotten. :y
