What's a manual gearbox?

I know! I just checked with Michael Aspel. According to BBC antiques roadshow, it was a very old fashioned mechanical box fitted to the earliest of cars to enable the horseman to select between slow and very slow 'gears'.
Then after 1586 it was filtered out in preference of modern devices, which included doors, windows, wheels and of course automatic gearboxes.
Apparently, there are still some people who like to re-live the old days by dressing up in 'robin hood' type regalia, carry swords, cry 'thou shalt not trethpass' and 'look hitherto at mine manual gearbox.'
These sad cases are usually confined to padded cells during the week, but at weekends they are allowed out on licence where they exhibit in publice their genitals, T-cut polish and manual gearbox cars.
Hope this helps.

weapon sword! ;)
Thye are VERY rare. I have only come across 1 and that was converted from auto to "ye olde" manual.

So some people have done that? I thought that was rarer.

... I was after a facelift one due to the different seat shape, but haven't seen one on autotrader for about 6 months. I've relented and bought a 52-reg 3.2 elite auto estate instead, TBH it's probably going to be better for me in traffic anyway ;)

So EP when are you going to recover from last night's ablutions and tell us what you're on about? ;)

Much to my wifes dismay I have just bought one and its sitting on Timbuks drive (much to his wifes dismay)
Its a 1999 blue 3.0 Elite Estate which has just failed its MOT on wishbones and front discs.
So for the next couple of weeks my wife is going to make my life hell and im going to be running around doing all the things she asks just to shut her up ;D
Oh and thanks Theolodian and Timbuk for helping out yesterday :y
