Well, today is the day.
I never thought I would have seen this, cremating my dad exactly one week before my 30th birthday.
There is so much, and so little I can say.
Words alone cannot express how I feel at this moment.
I don't know.
I really don't know.

My deepest sympathy mate.....My dad pasted away 6 years ago and he was on holiday in greece with mum so it was hard alround....All i can say mate is there is no right or wrong way to feel and what you are going and will go though will get easier with time.

Hope the day brings out the good things in his life, rather than dwell over the sadness of his passing.
I too lost my dad 2 months before my 30th birthday. Time heals, but you never forget (which is itself a double edged sword)

Enjoy the memories you save & remember them always. They can never be taken away from you.
I have many happy memories of my bro :) :) :) :)

I can only agree with the comments about remembering the good things not the bad, it works well and remember he is always there with you while you have the memories...
Best wishes on this sad day

A poem I have posted several times, and I make no apologies for posting it again as I found it a comfort when my mum passed ........
Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
whatever we were to each other
that we still are
call me by my old familiar name
speak to me in the easy way
which you always used
put no difference in your tone
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together
pray smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
without the trace of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
it is the same as it ever was
there is unbroken continuity
why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you
somewhere very near
just around the corner
All is well

Very sorry to hear that..
Inevitable for all of us.. Sure he will live in your memories.. My deepest sympathies..

As many people have posted try think of the good times. As time passes the sadness will diminish and you will draw great comfort from your fond memories of the good times with your dad.
Your in my thoughts,
Tony.

I lost my Dad a couple of years ago, such a shock but it gets easier with time. Just stay strong for those who need your support at this difficult time. Chin up mate
