I'll reserve judgement and remain neutral until anyone is convicted of an offence.
Bear in mind this is the daily mail....

Yes, it looks worrying, but I would like to see the facts before passing comment...... :)

‘They had barricaded all the entrances off, they were in the fields so nobody could get out.’
For the mother to say the above, to me would seem someone was looking for a 'way out'
I suspect there is a lot more to this story than has been released.

Oh, there must be. I mean, to warrant using 35 officers to arrest someone for "alleged breach of bail conditions", that was later thrown out of court due to lack of evidence.
Personally I think they should have played safe and called in the SAS. It could have gone horribly wrong. Have you seen the damage jelly and custard can do when hurled by an angry 10 year old ?

It's just not possible to form a reasonable opinion on such a questionably written news article....

35 officers...to arrest
Only one will make the arrest - the other 34 will be there to restore order and ensure safety / prevent escape, etc.
I'm sure there's more tothis than reported in the story.

....I'm not too sure about that James however it's impossible to say without reference to the operational briefing intelligence.
I read this as being symptomatic of the need for the police to go 'team-handed' to any job now due to the confrontational nature of the relationship between police and public - throw in a liberal dose of health and safety concerns as well and the numbers soon build up.
Those of us who have been 'there' know only too well that there is always a discrepancy in the reporting of such matters, however the video record of the operation should provide an indication of the run of events.

CS Gas? I'd have shot her.

I react really, really badly to CS spray.
Last time I was sprayed it literally put me on the floor - couldn't see for ages, and my eyes, nostrils, mouth etc were smarting for some time.

Thankfully I have never used the stuff or had it used on or near me ---- but the only FACT is that this story was in the Daily Mail -- I am afraid, with my past dealings with that particular paper, that alone consigns the storey to the waste paper bin >:(
