Post by: Big Fra on 03 November 2009, 18:39:01
Having a couple of days away at the mo.
Staying at a lovely wee place in Petersfield, its called The Good Intent.
Anyone know it?

Cracking place, off out for dinner soon, going to see what trouble I can get myself into.

Don't no it myself, but there is some nice countryside around Petersfield. I would not suggest actually visiting Southampton unless you really have to. Southsea and Hayling Island are good for visit though.

Also watch out for the speed camera's on many of Southampton's main roads into the city, most are on dual carraigeways with stupid speed limits on them. One of then from the Bursledon end is a dual carraigeway with a 30mph limit on it.

Poole Habour is worth a visit on a Fri or Sat Night, probably a bit cold this time of year though.

There are plenty of places within spitting distance that will show you the real meaning of trouble if that's what you really want  ;D ;D

PS

WTF does the outskirts of Pompey have to do with the scum anyway??

If you are meant to be part of the same crew (or in this particular case, trade union), then you stand your ground with your brothers IMO  ;)

For all concerned to hold on to beliefs from the 1930s can't be right KW, most of the people involved in that dispute must be dead by now. To go on supporting this must be wrong, surely it must end. I can only liken it to the IRA, keep on fighting for ever ?

The problem isn't about the original dispute, it's about staying to the end with your so called friends/mates/colleagues/whatever.

I guess I'll have to make it clear at this point, it is not a belief as such that I actively pursue. I take people for who they are rather than what they are, but make no mistake, If I think they are a t*at then I will not hesitate to let them know.

I do however believe in my first statement regarding solidarity, and always will until my dying breath.

But someone told you about it, you will no doubt tell someone younger than you, does it it ever end ?

Sorry to the OP for hijacking.

F**k me Manta, read back and look at the emoticons....it's a joke mate.

I honestly couldn't give a flying f**k about the 1930's to be honest, but you can guarantee it's bound to start something if it's ever mentioned.

The only part of anything I have written that is true is my beliefs on solidarity as a whole (and no, that isn't a reference to Soton).

I spent 6 months living in Newport on the IoW in the early eighties. There was a slogan in an underpass "PFC Kiick to Kill". I have always wondered whether it was serious or ironic....
