Title: Hows this for bad service
Post by: Del Boy on 16 November 2009, 18:36:56
Mate of mine has an Astra H club 1.6 on an 08 reg only done 14k miles nice little motor. Anyway he has been having a problem with it going from 1st to scond gear clonking and slipping. Anyway he took it down there today under warranty of course anyway turns out linkage needed adjustment as also said by their mechanic at Caffyns in Ashford, charged him £42 as it's an adjustment and they didn't have to replace any mechanical parts  :o

Even more shocking they said to him when he first went there "We'll try and keep you on the road as much as we can" anyway there answer to that was  "yes we can take you home but we don't have any courtesy cars in at the moment so thats all we can do.

What awful service.

The courtesy car I can understand if it was not a pre booked requirement (and you would be amazed as to how many turn up expecting one without booking one!).

But, the gear linkage is a set once and forget item and hence it must be down to an assembly error....hence warranty should cover it!

Call them again and ask if the want to re-consider or the next call will be to a certain consumer care programme.

If you want to see non existent customer service you should come here! My car has been in service for a whole week with no courtesy car. They dont exist.

And this country is bidding to host the 2022 World Cup.  ;D
