Title: Snow
Post by: Nickbat on 14 March 2007, 22:00:21
Metcheck and the Met Office are forecasting a cold blast next week, with quite widespread snow and frosts.

That was a short spring/summer wasn't it?

Next week? Like they'd know ::)

Hmmm this is the same Met Office/Metcheck that was forecasting heavy snow about 6 weeks ago... seen heavier frosts than the snow we did get!

I have become deeply sceptical of their mid/long range forcasting accuracy over recent years.

I rate Metcheck, they seem to be more accurate than most....

Very windy here but sunny spells.

Its started here - very windy and forced me indoors for the day. Huge sized chunks of real snow.

Got 3 inches along the ridge at back door but the garden is DRY !!

Its starting and stopping every ten minutes but when it comes on for a decent amount of time ( forcast later today) im gonna be stuck.

Hmm is that good or bad  :-/

That would be the correct thing to do.

However the hose is in the garage and we put all the bin bags in there until its collection day, but we tend to forget about that  ::) Last time we put the bin bags out it was February and there was a pile of them 5 feet high  ::)

'dangle berries' to me moving a shed load of bin bags to get the hose out!

Trouble is it will just get dusty again the next day, they are building the new Nippon Express HQ across the road (literally) and all the dust just comes over here.

Get your bin bags out you dirty little student. In years to come, when I'm visiting a theme park, and everyone is looking at their mobiles to see how long they have to wait for the next ride, I'll say "I know the guy who wrote the software for that......dirty little sod he was" ;D

its gone quiet here too - no snow - sunshine and wind has died down.

Looks like this could be a false alarm  ::)

We just had another short bout not long ago.  A little heavier this time.  The morning could be dicey.

Just come back from my mothers - down to 1 lane on the M6 south or Carlisle this morning with Omega rocking gusts of wind. :-/

Cruise set at 50! and MID had MPG swinging from 35 to 23 on a flat road due to the headwind.  Snow coming in at an impossible horizontal angle. :-?

But hey its mothers day so I had to go.  Coming back fine, just the usual wet & windy - well we did have sprouts  ;)

Just thrown the dog out for his nightly waz and it is snowing slowly here in East Fife. Should make for an interesting start in the morning as the local council forget our village. Or come by with the snow plough and block my drive in. Wonderful people, oops cannot talk wife works for them.... :-[

When I got up this morning, couldn't work out if we'd had a very slight dusting, or just a very hard frost...

Complete crap here at the minute.  Moments of really heavy snow, but main issue is standing water.

Been a crackin' day on the east coast as well.  Clouded over for a while late morning, briefest of very light snow, then clear sky again.

Beautiful spring evening here just now, showing that I really must clean those kitchen windows sometime....   ;D

Couple of hefty snow showers this evening, leaving a light dusting on the Meega.  :)
