Poor Guy!  He made a simple mistake, which is nothing compared to his very worthwhile contribution to this site! ::) ::) ;) ;)

Let's put it this way, a number of members, past and present, have "got away" with some very abusive language on here!! :o :o :o

I don't think it's about behaviour to be fair, Guy deleted his own account, he wasn't removed, so why should he expect to get his postcount back? :-?

No offense meant, just wondering where this is heading! :y

I think you probably should, simply because iirc most other people who have spat their dummy left and then returned, have had their post counts returned to them. :-/

I suppose if you get yours back .. James will want his back and so will anyone else who left..... for any reason ....

I actually think there could be a logistics problem here as well ... I believe, but don't know for certain, that once an account is deleted by its owner, all record of that account is gone .. as in deleted .... so there is no "proof", for want of a better word, of what the postcount was before deletion.

When the boys are "playing" and removing posts, there is actually a database record of what is/was as the account is never removed only modified.

If you had had your account removed, or your postcount modified, I think you would have a good argument ....  but as said .. you deleted the account .. then signed up with a new one ..... albiet the same name .. but only because there was no-one on the forum with that name as you had left .. if that makes sense ... :)

It could quite easily have been that someone had used your old name ... would you then wwant their name changed so you could have it back ???

Now, please don't think I'm "having a go" .. I'm not in the least .. just trying to point out the very large "can of worms" that retrospective actions can open up !!!

I voted "whats a postcount" as I firmly believe a persons worth on the forum is what they say and do  .. not how many times they post.....

Quality not quantity  :y :y :y

and your reputation puts you firmly in the first category  :y :y

Agreed. I would suggest that the old AmigoMV6, if it exists at all, is only going to exist on a backup tape on a shelf at TheBoy towers by now.

Finding the data and splicing it back into a forum that has moved on since then is going to be a lot of work, if not impossible.

Ljay, Entwood & KW. Yes i left of my own accord, regardless of why 'twas my decision. Had'nt thought of the fact that doing so could delete all previous activity unlike being de bagged for dubious behaviour so good point well made. I would promise to behave if i got them back but that would be a huge porkie pie, i could never promise that!!!
I do feel i was trying to further the forum with the photoshoot, (what a mug) but accept i overeacted...as i do!
Can't win 'em all, Guy. :)

Two were visible in the background if you look REALLY hard. I did'nt expect a whole heap of beans but FFS! The GLS model being scrapped got a better shot.
As far as Retro Ford Mag are concerned i feel like i've waded in to save a mate from a kicking only to have him smack me in the chops for my trouble. Talk about displaced loyalties!!!! :o ::)

Or the FT!!!  this was just a bit of fun..(are'nt all the best things?) & i know my post count is well & truly down the pan but given the time, phone calls, hours spent under a bridge in Scunny, car this way, that way, stand here & fold your arms, move that car here, that one there...
I love my old Fords but this shower can go take a flying break at the moon.
Yet another lesson i've learned the hard way but it's learned none the less. ::)
