It's not the users, it's the dealers that are the scum.

ive told my kids in the past that if anyone offers it to them to let me know. i'll make sure they wont get to offer it to them again.

drugs must be every parents nightmare unless you have a gilr and she says "daddy, im pregnant" and shes still at school ;D

I have absolutley no time for anyone that takes any thing like Heroin. They know the risks & they deserve what they get.
If i upset someone with my hardline talk then tuff, that's the way i am with drugs.

Without wishing to start an argument .. that is somewhat of a simplistic view IMHO. We see in court, every day now, young teenagers who have been "introduced" to drugs by scheming, nasty pushers who give them a dozen freebies to get them addicted ... then start taking the money of them  .. in ever increasing amounts.  Most of the kids are certainly at the lower edge of the intelligence/ability to think scale and they most certainly do NOT "know the risks" .. schools will teach about sex .. but not about drugs.

Disagree - why put NHS resources to people who CHOOSE to tke drugs?
Same goes to any substance abuse, including tobacco addiction (yup, reformed smoker here!).

How about some sort of medical insurance scheme for addictions of any nature who want medical help if/when if goes wrong. Say a proportion of the substance's price.
Like £1 on a packet of 20 smokes that goes to fund such a thing.

Drug use illegal therefore no insurance available?
Unlucky then.........you get no help!

My manifesto on tackling drink, drug, tobacco and NHS abuse for the next election!!

Happy to say that schools in York DO teach the kids about drug abuse in open and frank forums. :y

Agree there...

Similar to the argument about theft.

if there were no resetters - folks down the pub wanting a bargain - then there would bne no thieves or housebreakers/burglars.

Same thing, a generation removed, perhaps....

when my lad was 11, i sat him down and let him watch "trainspotting"

the best anti drug taking film ever imo

he is 14 now and still talks about the bit where they are all out of there sculls the they wake up to find the baby dead and the bit where he is trying to come off the sh*t.

his attitude is ................... what is to point of a quick buzz when that is what might happen. its not worth it  :y

well proud of the lad  :y

the countries where this is all produced, do the corrupt govts really want this taken off the streets, do they care how many die when the amounts involved bring in so much revenue.

Teenagers are impressionable creatures and are often easily influenced, they are not fully formed adults making informed choices, circumstances and a few personal problems can and does set them on the wrong path sometimes and if they encounter scum of the earth dealers (who are often the best sales reps you could meet)  then they can end up smackheads. The dealers often insist on giving them free heroin samples as a condition of selling them softer drugs in the knowledge that in one of their more vulnerable moments they might try it.
My heart goes out to any young kid and their parents who end up in this situation. The dealers however, I would inject the bastards with enough of their own product to kill an elephant.

ive just estimated them 10 busts at over 10 billion. is there anything that can produce as much revenue as heroin and cocaine??
