It doesn't look right, because there's 203.2mm in eight inches or is that me being a pedantic idiot ;D

Nah, just doesnt right.

Even with a bit more accuracy  of 203.2 mm or 20.32 cm making the result longer it still sounds better in it's original format.

You didn't mention the ambient temperature at time of comparison which should
 be 20 degrees centegrade Thats me being a pedantic idiot.

Better watch out STMO it's catching ;)
