me too ;D
at least 3-4 days a week I try to walk long distances..
I discovered that (through experimenting on myself) if I dont walk for 2-3 days I start to feel like I'm plugged off :-? and at night I have no power left.. :-/

Guess most of us -especially those of us getting closer to 50-are a bit worried about our health from time to time. The hardest thing is sticking to my "resolutions", I mean I know I feel better when I dont eat crap, cut down on the fags, drink more green tea and water, do more Tai Chi and eat plenty of fresh fruit/veg/fish....its just that I have no willpower ;DI just hope it doesnt take anything too drastic to be my wakeup call as I would like to still be fit enough to spend time with my grandchildren as they get older... :-/

FACT: Keep fit fanatics die young
FACT: Smokers & drinkers make it to their nineties with ease.
I'll make the decision as to what my body wants and when it wants it, because tomorrow won't be here if I get run over by a bus.

Didn't we have 'oxygen bars' in London a while back? I haven't heard of them for a while, so I guess they didn't do much.

I don't really know our family history from beyond grandparents, but the 3 generations I know about have all drunk like fish, smoked like chimneys, and all made it to their nineties without issue.
Please don't tell me that booze, fags, chocolate, milk, eggs, fried food, etc is going to kill me when there is definitive proof that living that sort of lifestyle will not neccessarily see me in an early grave.
When it's your time, then it's your time....and while certain lifestyles may not be conducive to long & healthy living for some, it doesn't mean that every single last one of us has to be shit scared about what we consume.

fear from death- not necessary, however its a good practice to know about chemical processes that occur in our body and behave accordingly..
briefly this genious man (Otto Warburg) found that cells suffering for O2 change their structure (mutate) and try getting O2 from sugar in blood.. and also another fact he found is that human cells covered by oil cant get O2 :o .. and the results are known for at least 80 years .. :-? somewhere else I read that it was proven at 2007 by very complicated lab devices as sugar using cells voltages are very hard to measure and such that..
so we wont hold a live wire, do we ?

Cem. We are all being poisoned every day by the sh!t we are forced to eat and our synthetic surroundings. Don't get paranoid, or you'll end up with a Michael Jackson mask. ;D

answer: I smoke a full packet per day.. and I eat as
wife permit much I want so no paranoia here ;D :y but imho we must know whats going on :-/

Bit late for me............. ::) ::)
Interestingly I had recently heard about these liquid oxygen drops and mentioned it to my Macmillan Nurses, along with some other medication, their reaction was if there was something out there then they would be providing it.
I have also been told, not by a health professional, but someone with lung problems, that once you start on oxygen at home, from a cylinder, it is the begining of the slippery slope..... :-/
An interesting Link though Cem, thanks....... :y

Why MUST we know?
If we were privy to even 10% of what REALLY goes on in the world, we'd be lucky to see 30 years of age before the stress killed us.
We were told that BSE was going to kill us all......guess what, we are all still here
We were told that certain dairy products (milk, eggs) were responsible for early death.....guess what, we are all still here.
Worry about what YOU know is hurting you, and leave the overpaid consultants/scaremongerers to restrict their diets to the point where their bodies can't even fend off the common cold.........you'll live a much longer, happier, and probably healthier life.

You are so right mate.

I think worrying about these things is the best route to an early grave. My uncle was easily the fittest and most healthy of my parents' generation in my family. Didn't drink or smoke, exercised a lot, perfect weight, etc.
However, he worried about everything in life, and keeled over suddenly at the age of 63.
Your number's going to be up one day, regardless. You can either be doing the things that are important to you until then, or worrying about it.

but dont forget we are the successful sperm in millions-billions that we are already the lucky one..
and after all that even reaching those ages is another chance in life.. For those who dont survive I feel bad honestly.. :-/

Interesting thread. It was said by the medical profesion after my accident at the age of 10 that I would not see my 21st birthday, well so far I have doubled that and a 3rd of the way through the next 21 years.
Not saying life is ok for me, as I have my problems, but as KW says, times up when it's up, untill then I carry on regardsless. and that is probably what has got me through.
I had a chain smoking great granny that saw 103, a granny that saw 97 and was the life and soul of the party till the day care service dropped her and broke her arm and she gave up on life as she felt she had lost her independence,
Lost my Mum at 66 to bone cancer, she had smoked heavily all of her life, she even said the fags would get her, and even if they went to £10 a packet she would carry on smoking as she loved them. She didnt die of lung cancer, but bless her she died happy. :'(
So based on that, firking enjoy life, coz it's a cert, we are all going to die one day.

No argument from me..... :y
I tend to worry about what I am leaving behind and how they will manage etc, I tend to run from one Christmas to another, each one a bonus, which in turn causes stress and worry... :'(

Personally I can't see the point in smoking.
However drinking, I think I have a small drink literally every day, this relaxes me and I bet it will extend my life ;D ;D ;D ;D
