I see the two jokes I posted SANK without trace, mad thought, cos no-one replied, not even to slag me off but 26 people opened it, even though they were warned that is is a little sick and read at your peril.

its like when a kid doesnt want to look at something so covers their eyes but you can see em peeking through the gaps in their fingers,i think sometimes jokes come out that quick that the dust hasnt settled at the disaster scene and although funny yes its a joke a tad too early for some folk and others a no go altogether :)

Just not funny, there are 100's of english man / french man jokes out there, most make me laugh, but the one posted, quite frankly was just odd!

english scotch and irishman get placed on top of the slide of magic and god says when you slide down whatever you say you will land in it
englishman sets off and goes gallons of lager
scotchman sets off and goes whisky
irishman sets off and goes weee :y

Sorry ... but there seem to be a spate of "jokes" that I don't find even slightly amusing tonight .. others might .. I don't ... :(
But as my thoughts are not the same as everyone elses, I simply say nothing now.
I've voiced my opinion on these "jokes", the general level of "bathroom humour" and the bad language in use, all of which have become far more prevalent in recent months .. and basically been told "tough" by several members who like their own way.
I have a choice, and I make it quite freely. I ignore some posters, and choose to read others. At present that works .. the day it doesn't I'll leave ... quietly.
Each to their own ... you are entitled to your opinion... but so am I .. :)

Glad i am not along in those thoughts

Some of the recent jokes are a little tasteless but I find the british humour like that. I remember recieving jokes about the 7/7 london attacks the same night by text. It's just normal now I think and it stemed from the time of the blitz.

here i go again ...
he who is silent is deemed to consent, so I repeat my point about AGW in the "racist but funny" thread elsewhere http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1264780789.
Sometimes its nice to be nostalgic about the jokes & attitudes of 30-40 yrs ago. But sometimes, most times, it's not.
Keep up folks!

Sense of humour is a very subjective matter.....what some people find funny .....others will not.
Quite frankly I have never seen anything that offends me here at OOF........not even from STMO..... ::) ::) :y.....people can post what they like as far as I'm concerned........I'm happy to leave any censorship to the Admin team.. :y :y :y

Yes, I agree. I've not been offended by anything I've seen. I'm have not said anything about censorship. Censorship is a different level, and I have seen examples where the admins have intervened, probably rightly. But if people want to have the "right" to post stuff in the open, they have to accept my "right" - the counterpart to say "not funny" or whatever. Elsewhere I said "he who is silent is deemed to consent". In this case, I don't consent, therfore I'm not silent.

As we are in OOF land I have to agree with you but I get much worse by text daily.
OK then another view.... Haiti jokes! I've had, as I'm sure you all have had texts' on the subject, and found them mostly amusing although inline with my view of british humour. Yet one was slated for being tasteless and another involving a certain UK citiy's residents found amusing. I feel it's all subjective to ones own personal views and humour levels.
Now I'd laugh at a funeral and have done with relatives and people professionally involved in the service frowning at us. It's the way I am.

I agree E, if I don't like I don't read, sometimes I squirm a little, but am unlikely to post or comment at Jokes i do not like. Anyway, as a mere Junior Member I do not think I should be passing negative comment on the jokes posted by more senior members..... ;)

Now that I TOTALLY disagree with, your voice and opinion carries exactly the same weight as every other members. You have the same rights as everyone esle. If you don't like something .. say so .... likewise .. when you agree .. speak up.
And I've said that very deliberately ... I know, and do others .. that your "junior" status is false ... however true newcomers will not see your joke and could well actually believe you ... :)
They also have the right to an opinion NOT clouded by post count.
