Your not going after the blue one on ebay with CD spec alloys are you?  :)

Or is it the black one with the seat backing ripped slightly.

We all await the details with much interest.

Good luck with it and here's to another good profit!

Sounds interesting - will I get to see this one?

Being an estate, are you going to try to flog it to the household servants (aka Mother)?

Looks like more work than project A but I'm sure you'll get it sorted :)

hummm yes and no.... the body work is in much better condition, 4 rust bubbles not really noticable, which is a big bonus, as the rust on Proj.A was a right pain.

Same problem with the leccy seats... going to investigate that.

I'd say its about the same work as Proj.A

yes no longer just a 'full member'  ;D

Radio is a bit of PITA.... but as McB said not to bother!!!, i might just rip one out of the scrappy and shove it in the hole and say it does't work!

Tomorrows plan, give it a damn good clean. (after i have been to the scrappy)

People who buy cars in that sort of price bracket aren't generally looking for the perfect motor so the radio probably won't bother them too much.

Agreed. Main sticking point with a sale at the moment is the leccy seats don't work, and won't go backwards or forwards (no manual bar), so the buyer needs to be average height of about 5ft8  ;D

Don't they have a manual mech for the forwards and backwards bit?  Leccy seats are diagnosable via tech2, but I'd check it the old way - with a meter...

Yep I got a short dog legged steel bar with mine for manual adjustment in case of failure, like a toy cranking handle

Could't see anything, not had a real chance to get a good look yet.

You mean check the fuses with a meter?

Check the power at the seat connections

Be careful playing with the seat connector whilst ignition on as the SRS could fire....

i would disconect the battery before doing so - may be more time consuming but saves deployment  ;)
Title: Re: Project B Aquired!
Post by: mr des on 17 August 2006, 21:16:04
but how do you know if there is power then? well two ways continuity with positive disconected terminal and positive on connector or with batt connected use probes which pierce the insulation which will seal up when your done or option three disconect batt and run 12v to the seat motor direct but fit an approiate fuse in line ie two leads, one for neg one for +ve. big croc clip on one end little on other, in line fuse holder on +ve then connect motor direct to batt

Point taken... speaking of the battery it looks like it should be in a Corsa, not a 3.0 V6 megga its tiny!! - Seams to start ok though.

Just leave it for a few mins after disconnecting the battery??

I think most of the connections are good, i did't notice any loose wires, but will investigate tomorrow

Good acually, thanks for the charger.

Left it on all night, was putting in slightly under 2 amps by the morning.

Started fine, drove to Bicester North to take the train to London... picked up the car at around 8pm.. started fine..  :)

Had a bit of AC/DC - Thunderstruck on the way back from the station... :)

The ICE in my facelift is a tad better than Project B

Thunderstuck? Fantasic tune, m8 at my old work was brilliant on the guitar he played it for us.

Quite like a bit of AC/DC when blasting down the country roads..

I like rock music - when I was younger a couple of local bands did quite well
