having past my test less than 3 years ago, and driving a corsa for over 2 of those years and only quite recently accquiring my omega, i'd never tried fuel additives

Every tank full seams a bit excessive!
Been meaning to try some Forte stuff in mine....

Basically its a cleaning agent that removes sediment and varnish from the fuel system, injectors, valves etc. Most are Turpentine-based and smell accordingly...
What is slightly misleading is the claim for extra mpg and power - if your engine's performance is down due to dirty fuel system, then cleaning it will restore it to its original condition, but the additive by itself does not 'improve' the fuel so don't expect any improvement over the manufacturers original specs...
The 'premium' fuels e.g. Shell V-Power, BT Ultimate, Texaco High-Octane etc have cleaning agents added to them already, so strictly speaking there is no need to use a fuel additive with 'premium' fuels - but I use 97 fuels AND Redex, just to be safe....

Nothing IN the gas - just the occasional squirt of Redex in the petrol
