I had the privillege to test drive my mates new aquisition, a 1999 Honda accord typeR. What a car much better than i expected with an engine that made you smile when it reaches its powerband. I was quiet happy to discover that the power is quiet progressive and that the very low gearing makes you feel that there is always enough torque present. brilliant car overall. Funny bit that at idle and up to 2k rpm it sounds exactly like the old civic 1.3.

Honda. I love em [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

were they rovers?
-
Its the way you drive them ;D They take a lot of breaking
-
Yup, both AR/Rover. One broke a camshaft (can't blame rover for that), other had an electronics failure (which honda knew about and fixed FOC, rover didn't (so she nicked me the part))

Well if Jamie treated them anything like his tools its not suprising ;D
Trouble is with Civic Type R's is they have no torque, put a brick on the passenger seat and your stuffed

True, the Rover 216 (Honda single cam 16v unit) only ever used 3rd gear - it pulled from 15mph all the way to arounf 105mph (and over redline - no limiter that I ever found). By time car was scrapped at 140k, 3rd whined a little :-[

You've just solved the auto v manual debate. Buy a manual and just drive it round in 3rd all day ;D

only works on japs i had a nissan like that

Another thing that surprised me is the fact that i could sit in the back without my head touching the roof liner, something that i haven't seen in audia4.bmw3, alfa 156, vectra, mondeo, etc.
