Title: I feel like crying

I have just finished watching 'The weakest link'. What a sad indictment of the level of general knowledge carried by some people in this country. The simplest of questions had them totally baffled.
To a young trainee teacher "What are the sharp objects that protrude from the stem of a rose called?".
"Errrrrrrr.....pass"

"Thorns".

Shrug of the shoulders as if to say 'Never heard of them'.

God help us.

My daughter only goes into the garden to sunbathe, she wouldn't know what a rose was either :o :o
