Title: New Wireless keyboard combo.
Post by: Olympia5776 on 23 March 2010, 12:31:07
Might be a simple answer to this.
I'm awaiting a new Logitec keyboard mouse combo for my desktop PC .
I admit to smashing the old one up in sheer frustration when the text I'd written was slowly eaten up like a pac man game for the Nth time due to a faulty dongle and / or keyboard.
Anyway , the thought has occurred to me how do I connect and configure the new one because when I power up I have to click on user to get into desktop mode . With no mouse connected I cant do this.
I've tried connecting a universal wireless mouse and wired mouse that I use on this laptop (which only requires the dongle and mouse to be " switched on " to communicate with each other ) and the wired mouse plugged straight in , but neither are recognised on the desk top.
Is there an admin mode that I can select when it is firing up prior to it getting to the user window that would allow me to set up the new combo ?
I await a million replies with eager anticipation ..... :y

I just wiped my hard drive and bought a new Logitech Keyboard and mouse at the same time, when I switched on for 1st time after re-installing Windows, Keyboard and Mouse just worked as soon as I inserted  receiver.
Dunno How, but it did and has worked ever since.

I usually connect an old fashioned wired mouse, boot up, install/configure the software for the wireless stuff, switch off, disconnect wired mouse. .....  boot ...

Worked every time so far ..  :)

I think if you press the tab button on the left it moves arround the screen to clickable mouse moints, you will see a dotted like ghosting round the icon.  When you get to the one you want press enter.  If doing the same and one of the letters is underlined then hold Alt (or ctrl - can neber remember) and press the corresponding (letter) key.

Also on some menu's when it is ghosted /kighlighted you can also use the cursur keys.  :y

Mouse and keyboard should work with out issue though.
