One of the most headline-grabbing models of recent years, the Lotus-developed Opel Omega/Vauxhall Carlton caused a storm of controversy when it was revealed that this four-door production saloon could touch 175mph   :y  :y

One was sold with less than 20 miles on the clock a couple of years ago, had sat in a show room all it's life, only ever ventured out for an MOT and back.  Asking price I think was £20k

Same year the was also a brand spanker and never been on the road, think it had 1 mile on the clock, was on autotrader for £150k

Pretty sure the Kadett had a different engine to the viva derived engine in the shovitt, same floorpan and probably some body panels/ suspension/ brakes etc. :y

Correct, and as the Viva and its big brothers were early seventies designs there wouldnt have been an Opel connection, I believe that came about in 1976 iirc. :-/
