Hi Martin, you won,t be dissappointed with any of the beaches on the gower.
We usually go with the club to Bank Farm on Port Enyon, excellent sea views.Rhossili has the best beach on the whole of the gower, but its quite a steep walk down to it.
If it rains, plenty to do in nearby Swansea and other local places.

Alfie.

If the weather is bad you have the mumbles pier which will keeep you occupied for a while but will cost money

In swansea you have the LC2 which is a refurbished leisure centre (no not a sheep in a new dress) with swimming pool, climbing wall etc
http://www.thelcswansea.com/

There is also the waterfront museum which is excellent and is beside the marina, this is free!!! they also have regular events which does include a farmers market and they had wild boar burgers which are lovely :y

Absolutely - 'twas awarded the status of 'Britain's first area of outstanding natural beauty' - and rightly so!

We take the caravan there several times each year.
Our touring site preference is the Caravan Club's site at Pont-y-cob road, Gowerton, SA4 3QP. Tel: 01792 873050.
Non-members welcome by advance booking.

It's a beautiful site, with easy access from the M4, and good local amenities.
Swansea itself is easily accessed - we use the excellent Park & Ride service. It's just £2.20 all-in, for secure parking' plus 2 adults and 2 children return bus rides into the city centre.

In fact, perfect for exploring Gower with it's stunning beaches and scenery, and for all of West Wales too.
You'll not be disappointed here!

I've also stayed at the Caravan Club site in Gowerton. The Gower is superb!!

Also just down the road is Pembrey Country park which again is superb.

My sentiments exactly Steve.
Caravan Club sites' standards are high, and prices can be on the steepish side too.

BUT, no 'chav-types' with out-of-control kids.
Suits us down to the ground mate - especially if it's on Gower too!

as Debs said in another post, "there's lovely foyou..." or similar

Dad took us there as a nipper, a special place indeed, visit "the worms head" and that in credible beach with the view accross the estuary. Often the R.A.F. fly past on a practice bombing run.... :-X

Yep, and there's LC2, The Mumbles, and even a gentle stroll around this fair city.

Plus Wales' largest indoor market, which is crammed full of the finest local Gower produce.
Mrs Sethsmate always buys some laver bread there for our breakfast. Brilliant when cooked in bacon fat, (and I reckon), the ultimate Gower delicacy!
Starvin Jacks' stall does excellent value food too - lovely hot roast turkey baguettes with stuffing and cranberry - mmmmm!

Ah right.
Nice enough area, but a fair way down the North Gower roads, which are generally pretty good, though you'll need to be careful in places.

That's my reasoning for suggesting the CC site at Gowerton.
Called in to Pitton Cross (or was it Pitton Green) site down there once - friggin' charlatan mate. Honest.

Will take all advice but this year is careful year.

Otherwise it will be both May/June and July/August in Cornwall.

100 extra miles on LPG and 3 bottles of wine vs site fees for a few days.

If you're a Caravan Club member, here's a few CLs that we liked the look of, but haven't tried yet, on the south side of Gower.
All three have EHU's, and beautiful sea views.

Ivy Cottage Farm, Nicholaston, SA3 2HL (01792 371268)
Heather Brae, Nicholaston, SA3 2HL (01792 371250)
Perriswood Farm, Nicholaston, SA3 2HN (01792 371661)

All three on page 533 of current Sites Directory & Handbook.

HTH ;) ;) 8-) 8-)

I have camped at Port Eynon a few times, just here in fact:

Very nice, I liked the Gower a lot.

I had an idea to attempt organising an OOF meet on Gower at one time .........

A very good family friend had a field there, and was happy to lend it out to us free of charge too.
Alas, one thing led to another, and nothing came of the idea. Hmmmmm ..........

"You pays your money - you takes your chances" etc

The choice is yours after all.
'Twas unimpressed here. Then there were the (hidden) charges, like awning, electric hook-up, etc etc.

Unimpressed :(
