Title: Bl**dy auction sites!
Post by: JesterRT on 08 April 2010, 10:29:59
Spent near to 500 quid on bits and pieces to ready the Jag up for an MOT.  Last bit bought through e*ay and PayPal decided that the only way to pay was with an eCheque.  So that takes 8-10 days to clear.  I gave up today and rang the seller - who has decided (without contacting me) that I was a non-payer and has sold the item already and doesn't have any others in stock.

The last piece in my MOT jigsaw.  I was prepared to drive across and pick it up in person today rather than wait for the post.  Argg!!!!  Sooooooo angry.

He's even got another identical part advertised - which means he's clearly trying to sell something he hasn't got!

Mmm. had a similar thing recently myself, too. Does it occur to you (as it has me) that the bit he's selling either does not exist, or he is selling one, and pocketing all the others money?

My bit was extremely rare, the probability of him having TWO of them was so improbable, it was almost impossible.
but he advertised another as soon as the other was "sold"

I gave up on ebay long ago. I bought five cars over the early years, always paid in cash, never got involved with paypal. I found that diect communication with the seller was always best. I realise that this would not work with a high volume seller, but I can do without the hassle, so I look elsewhere.

He's a 'Top Rated' Seller - no negative feedback (yet!)  Really peeved me off.  Car was supposed to be back through MOT.  Got daughters christening this weekend.  Now have to use the scabby 3dr corsa for transport

A lot sell stock/items that they know they can make money on but dont buy them in till they have a buyer themselves.

I have the same thing at the moment, bought a bird bath/table , take my money then tell me it was supposed to be a lorry load that was delivered, so they either had ordered it, and were waiting for it, ordered it after I won it, or are being very honest rather than bullshit me.

Either way, the little disckie birds have to suffer till they get thier act in order.  :-/
