Title: Halifax quick off the mark
Post by: tunnie on 08 April 2010, 21:30:47
Got a Marriott Rewards Credit card that i use for all fuel, and big spend items. Gets paid off in full every month.

Stopped for some gas at Asda again, their chip and pin machine was broke, so had to sign for it. Within 30 seconds of driving out had a call from them, but as an automated service. The 'system' knew my name, but as it was automated, i urged on caution, ended the call, and would ring them later.

Turns out they rung the house too (automated again) rang number i knew to be them, and turns out it was them, they blocked the card as they thought it was suspicious!

Got it all working again now though, but have to say they were fast calling me after blocking it!  :o

Felt the phone in my pocket vibrating as I walked away from the counter after buying Mrs. KW's engagement ring. I could imagine the train of thought.

"The tight git's spending money. It's not car or electronics related. Something's up." ;D

I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday with Barclaycard. Frustrating on one hand but re-assuring on the other.
