Mrs G is looking at changing insurance for us on her car, £228 with first central is over £100 cheaper than the next option on her Polo, but they get terrable reviews, as you might expect, and will avoid like the plague.
But who do you use/recommend/avoid/dispise for car insurance? thing like call centres, fitting pattern parts, back logged claims dept, and general poor service are high on my pet hate list.
I really really need to leave direct line, and she's with alliance and leicester.

I found "Elephant" to be the best for the past 2 years .. and they have been pretty good on the on-going claim as well ...
Might be worth getting an on-line quote ?

I have been with 1st central since Dec. I always go with the cheapest option.

Just set up multicar with Admiral - currently with Elephant which is a subsidiary of Admiral and so will progressively transfer over to Admiral as the elephant policies expire on the other cars.
No claims experience. Direct Line have been fantastic on household claims for us but no experience of car claims with them.

Swiftcover for us... No claims experience with them but like the fact they're completely online. Print your own docs too :y
Have spoken to call centre once and they were very good.

dont go near e.sure, absolute nightmare. internet based and they charge £1 a min for calls as they dont want you calling. they also take the direct debit when they like not when date stated. they took mine 6 days earlier leaving me with charges by my bank and them for not sufficent funds

No claims experience. ....
We had our cars on Admiral's Multicar policy last year. Prorata for the full year, their premiums weren't bad, around £700 for the 3 cars, however ....... on renewal this year was around £1100. Couldn't fault them though when we had a claim.

Admiral multicar for us, 3 vehicles, no probs so far, less than £166 for me fully comp with business use, £200 for the missus 2.5 V6 MG fully comp, £120 for my coach, 3rd party f/t. Good service on the phone.
(discount for every additional vehicle, about 20% cheaper than my last years policies for separate vehicles)
Very pleased.
