We have a lovely 10 month old black/brown cross dog who through no fault of her own we have to let go of this week.....
Anyone got any advice of the best way of doing it?
Dont really want to sell her, havent got time really for that, dont need money for her and was a bit dubious about giving her to the RSPCA
Any advice greatly appreciated
:)

Don't envy you mate it is Heart Breaking :'(
It is mate, the house we rent has been put up for sale and our new landlord wont accept pets, so its a sad situation, it isnt her fault, and she is great with our 3 yr old son who is going to miss her no end, dont know how we are going to tell him to be honest
:-/

Can't you give him a sob story and try to talk him round?

I took ours to the Dogs Home who found him a new home. They go around to check out the new home before they let the dog go there too.
I sobbed my heart out I don't mind admitting it :'(

Any chance of fostering the hound out to a friend or rellie --- that way the laddie can keep in touch.

The only doggy people in our family are my parents and they have their hands full with the dog they have already.....
thinking of talking to the RSPCA tomrw, we just want her to go to a good home, she really deserves to

Please, please, please use them only as a last resort... PDSA/Blue Cross are a far better choice. :y

What a shame - nice little dog - hope you find her a good home mate. Would offer to help but already have 8 dogs here!

Totally agree, use the rspca as a last resort only. I found a kitten that had been run over on the road, and out of all the places i rang they where the worst (horrible) they flat out told me "dont bring it here we dont want it" Wouldnt give them the time of day now. I ended up taking it to the Cat Protection League.
My friend had to rehome one of her dogs a while ago, try the local rescue centres im sure they will make sure your doggy has a lovely home :y

Good news... Must confess I was tempted to try and convince SWMBO but we're expecting a puppy in the not too distant future

Delighted to report a very happy ending for Coco, thanks to OOF, she has gone to live in a nice loving home and will have a great new life there
Thanks Andy and Annette and hope you all get home safely, lovely meeting you both
