Title: Trike frame maker wanted ......
Post by: HolyCount on 08 May 2010, 19:28:08
..... nowt at all to do with cars, but I know the knowledge and skills base on here is impressive ....

I have technical drawings of this trike:

and am looking for someone with the skill and wherewithall to make the frame.  All I can find locally are big engineering firms that would cost an arm and a leg (and the rest) to do it.

Anybody have any suggestions ?

Maybe a small local sheetmetal company or gate maker?

It's your life, but I'd make sure I used someone who knew what they were about.

I use a guy called Terry O'Hara. He specializes in alloy fabrication. I've just had alloy welding done myself (one job was sorting all the cracked manifold to head ports on my miggy's inlet manifold).
Some pretty impressive jobs he's had ready for collection when I've been there .
He's located 5 mins off J49 (M4). Let me know if you want his No.  :y

I am certain that this is true. However, what with caring for the doggies, keeping Lazarus alive and running a farm there must be little time spare. Good thought though  :)

B&H Autokraft in Doncaster do framework for dragsters, or at least they used to.

When I was into the yanks they gave me a guided tour of the place, they had a full in house machine shop. Did the whole job lot from servicing to engine transplants.

At the time the were building a space frame from scratch for a 1500 fully blown Hemi, with the full size drag race wheels/tyres on the back and pram wheels on the front. Plus the wheelie bars and the rest of the kit.  Would certainly recommend them but may not be cheap.

B & H Autokraft Ltd

3 Balby Road
Doncaster DN4 0
01302 368774

They never used to draw attention to thier US side of the business, but wouldnt hurt to make a call.

Other options are to find a local steel fabricating unit and have a chat.

Cheers Hoody -- already spoken to them -- they don't do frames any more -- just full builds

SW customs look good Eddie-- might have a word if other avenues don't come to fruition. Same for B&H, Skruntie and Terry O'Hara, Turk.
