I'm breaking SWMBO's fester courier van after it spectacularly failing the MOT. Twice now I've listed it and twice eGay have deleted it!!!
1st time, fair enough, I'd listed it in the cars section as, as far as I'm concerned, it's still a car. 2nd time, listed it in the parts section as breaking again. BUT because I put my phone number on for contacting me regarding what parts people want and stated quite clearly "I will create a buy-it-now for each item required" but aparently that is promoting 'off eGay sales'!!!!!! WTF?????????? >:( >:( >:( >:(
So basically I've told them which orifice they can shove my account!!!!

Just had a reply stating that it was deleted because I was offering to sell items outside of eGay! I simply pointed out that whoever was answering my emails needs to take english lessons so that they can read the listing themselves! I also asked why they hadn't deleted my account?

They seem to have some sort of robot answering e-mails. It has the intelligence of retarded earwig.
I have been trying to change my e-mail address for six weeks, and their mechanism doesn't work. Their e-mail answerer can't cope with my requests to do something about it, and I haven't found out how to get in touch with a human bean there. :(

ive had all this with them and no matter how much i ranted they would not close my account for 90 days due to any recent activity that may of happened on the account

See how long it takes them to close my account when I don't pay my fees!

Your story isn't the first one like this, and it isn't going to be the last.
I had an experience like this few months ago.
Because I wanted to sell a 'Yamaha' part, got a response of I couldn't use the word 'Yamaha' because it infringed copyright / trademark laws, and I could be selling something that wasn't genuine !. :-?
It was a brand new Yamaha part, boxed and everything.
In the end I got around it by changing the wording, and it was accepted - But what a farse to get it to be accepted !!.
Heard on the grapevine that there's quite a rebellion starting up against Ebay, so that may have to do some big changes, or people will start walking away ?.

Is it right they charge 15% commision on sales but only a fixed fee on a car.

Dunno about that one, I get stupid ebay charges though everytime I put a car on there. It takes the mick, another thing which is quite annoying is it's usually £12 to list a car with a reserve but, 3 cars I've listed recently you get charged £15.99 if you have a reserve over 10k which I think takes the michael a bit.
