Title: Will my VectraC do 400miles on 50L of LPG?

Im going to Ipswich tomorrow.....round trip is 400 miles.
 
When I take my Omega it uses 80L of LPG to do the trip.....its mainly motorway/dual carriageways.
 
So tomorrow im taking my VectraC 1.8 dualfuel as an experiment....ive just filled its LPG tank up....it holds 50L.....so will it make it? I will drive it at the same speeds as I do my Omega...so i wont be cheating and trying to make it do more to the litre.

I am saying yes as my LPG tankholds 55 litres and i can get 350miles from a tank and flooring it on the motorway.

So a 1.8 should be better MPG but it depends on how you drive.

My vote would be yes, but it will be a close thing. :)

I hope it isnt too hot tomorrow.....so i can keep the aircon turned off....just so it has a fair comparision....Omega uses 80L with aircon turned off.

i am going to say yes.....

The 1.8 Veccy is not as underpowered as the 2.2 Omega.... so i rekon it will be better on fuel. However I don't mind if its not, means Omegas are better on fuel that Veccy!  :D

A definate no I would say.....just shy of 40mpg on LPG in a Vectra....its hopeful....

Im hoping it will.....last week i gave it a treat...oil/filter change...new plugs and air filter  :y Only 90k miles on it.

NO.... :(

It ran out of LPG after 310 miles  :(

However I couldnt understand the crap fuel ecomony of it.....approx 28mpg  :o

So i double checked the tank capacity....its not 50L  :-[ My VectraB has a 50L tank so assumed the C would as well......its only 44L...so approx 32mpg.....which is better  :y

So comparing against the Omega.....which uses 80L to do the trip....VeccyC uses 57L......so everyone who voted NO was correct.....even if it had a 50L tank it still wouldnt have made it.
