They certainly don't want it E but the potential for mission-creep on the back of accidential contact is becoming very real indeed - with all that it implies. :( :(

Albs, I know that was just an off the cuff 'throw away remark' for a laugh mate, but this is a really deadly serious business for ALL of us! If this escalates, & it could get out of control frighteningly quickly, then we could be talking about another Global Conflict, only this one doesn't bear thinking about! :o ;)

No point lying awake at night worrying about it though Phil, lifes too short mate. ;)

I doubt it. North Korea is the "Billy No Mates" of the international community. Even China, a vague sort of acquaintance of NK, would not risk its new-found wealth for a prat like Kim Yong-Il. Of more concern than guns and bombs is the economic fallout. South Korea is a major economic force these days and therefore an economic problem there is an economic problem elsewhere. The global stock markets have reflected this in their falls today.
Perhaps one should put off buying a Hyundai/Kia for the time being as spares may become a bit scarce if hostilities break out.

Yep, arent these global markets a pita. London, Wall st. and presumably everywhere else have dropped badly today because of Korea and Greece. :'( :'(
From a domestic point of view London has had some reason to be cheerful in the last week or so, but the global picture has more than cancelled that out. :'(

The global financial situation is very worthy of note and on the back of the regional tensions being discussed, stands likely to problematic in the extreme.
The imediate matter for concern however must be with the increasing military activity in the region and the likihood for unintended events to unfold as a result of accidental contact.

Clinton would not discuss the details of what the United States might do but noted that President Barack Obama had ordered U.S. military commanders to "to ensure readiness and to deter future aggression" from North Korea. The United States has 28,500 troops in South Korea.
